Black Friday typically falls within the 23rd and the 29th of November due to the fact that Thanksgiving always falls on the fourth Thursday of November. It is not technically a holiday, though because a large number of works generally have the day off, the number of potential shoppers greatly increases.

Because it is the first day of Christmas shopping, it is a very popular day to go out and shop. It is also a very popular day to shop because retailers use this day as an advantage, opening extremely early and holding extreme sales. For example, retailers such as Wal-Mart, Macy’s, Best Buy, Toy’s R Us, as well as Sears have all previously been reported to open on Black Friday midnight, though most others will typically open at 5 AM.
