Chili’s Grill and Bar Restaurant was founded by a man named Larry Lavine, and is now owned and operated by Brinker International, a consortium that owns other restaurant properties such as Romano’s macaroni Grill, Maggiano’s Little Italy, and On the Border Grill & Cantina.

Chili’s Grill and Bar Restaurant was founded in 1975 in the American city of Dallas, Texas, with the intention of providing an informal atmosphere centered on a variety of burgers priced for value and good drinks. Under Lavine’s leadership, the restaurant expanded to twenty two locations in Texas before being sold to Norman Brinker in 1983. Under Brinker’s leadership, Chili’s Grill and Bar Restaurant has expanded to have locations in all fifty American states as well as twenty-eight locations in other countries.

Chili’s has a consistent record of contributing to the communities they do business in through a variety of charity efforts such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through their efforts, they help fight childhood cancer, and provide relief to families of stricken youth. This commitment is long term too, with Chili’s committing to donating $50 million to the effort. Chili’s is also involved in other initiatives that support local communities through its parent company, Brinker International. Menu Variety

Chili’s continues to be known by its signature casual atmosphere, but it’s menu has developed beyond burgers and drinks.
